Jakob is famously known for his spectacular talent at such a young age. He has many World age records as well as now being one of the fastest in the world over the 1500m & 5000m.
He trains with his two brothers Henrik & Fillip, who both also specialise in the 1500m & 5000m. Each brother has won the European 1500m championships in different years.
To top off the family affair, their younger sister is now also competing and all 4 siblings are coached by their father Gjert.
Their training is filled mainly with threshold runs, which we go into greater detail in our Ingebrigtsen training method article.
He usually trains in Saint Moritz ( Switzerland) or Flagstaff (Arizona)
As of April 2020, Jakob is currently living with his girlfriend, down the road from his family home in Sandnes Norway. They have a pet Golden retriever.
Jakob’s main interests seem to be fortnite and Mercedes cars.
