ISTAF Berlin – 13th September 2020

The ISTAF Berlin takes place in one of the most iconic stadiums on the planet

The Berlin Olympic stadium has hosted some iconic moments across the years. One of the most memorable would be Usain Bolt’s World records in the 100m and the 200m. Which are records that look set to be around for a very very very long time. Can we see more world records at the ISTAF Berlin.

Other than the history within this phenomenal stadium it also possesses one of the most desired features within any athletics stadium. The blue track. The stadium is open to 3500 spectators, which is just a little shy of the actual stadium capacity, which is a staggering 45,000.

We will show the stream here when its available

Key events – ISTAF Berlin

Mens Javelin – This features in form Johannes Vetter who recently threw the 2nd furthest in history. With a staggering 97.76m. Can he break the World record in Berlin?

1500m Women – Probably the most stacked field of the day. It features 16 runners. This includes Laura Muir, Laura Weightman, Jessica Hull, Shannon Rowbury and many more world class runners. Looking for a favourite in this race, it has to be Muir. She has ran a strong last lap in all races this season and seems like a favourite for a medal in Tokyo.

400m hurdles men – The search for Karsten Warholm’s world record continues. Can he do it today? Will he do it this season? He’s getting so close to the record, watching each race leaves you in disbelief at how much he beats the rest of the field by. In Ostrava he ran his slowest time of the season, hopefully this was just a coincidence and not a sign of fatigue, due to the amount of races he’s done this season.

Men’s pole vault – Another World record which looks like it’s near it’s end. Mondo Duplantis will be looking to hold the indoor and outdoor world records by the end of the season. With pole vault being a very technical event, variables on the day, such as weather, can play a big factor. Hopefully the wind is good and we see him go over 6.15m.
